LEARNING GOAL #3 - Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint: Students will be able to work with a team, form an outline, then build and share a multi-slide presentation using a variety of features from Microsoft PowerPoint 2016.
LESSON OVERVIEW: We are in the final stretch. Just a few more days and the semester will be over. If you struggled for the first few weeks or months of the class, you still have a chance to finish well. If you have been doing great all semester, this is your shot to prove how good you are. Today, we will begin working on our Final Presentation projects and find ways to mix our presentation skills with our technology skills. This is day one of three.
DAILY SCHEDULE (85 MINUTES): PART 1: SOLO WORK (10-20 Minutes) PART 2: CLASS DISCUSSION / NEW MATERIAL (30-50 Minutes) PART 3: DAILY ACTIVITY (10-20 Minutes) PART 4: CLOSING (5 Minutes)
PART 1: SOLO WORK Step 1: Find your assigned computer Step 1a: Classroom helper pass out name tags Step 2: Log on to your assigned computer Step 3: Go to and log on to your typingweb.com account Step 4: Begin your next typing practice lesson Step 5: Remember, you are trying to reach at least 15 WPM on each of the Beginner Lessons (all 9 of them)
PART 2: CLASS DISCUSSION / NEW MATERIAL Step 1: Go to the class discussion web site Step 2: Begin reading new lesson material until class discussion activity start Step 3: Once the class discussion activity starts, follow along on the web site and be prepared to read the material out loud to the class
PART 4: CLOSING Step 1: Classroom helper collect and put away name tags Step 2: Close all open applications (Microsoft Office applications, web sites, etc.) Step 3: Gracefully shut down your computer Step 4: Turn off your display Step 5: Push your chair under the desk and pick up any trash
