LEARNING GOAL #3 - Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint: Students will be able to work with a team, form an outline, then build and share a multi-slide presentation using a variety of features from Microsoft PowerPoint 2016.
LESSON OVERVIEW: Today, we will begin working with Microsoft PowerPoint, learning various features of the program through class activities, and explore other features of the program with our shoulder partners. We will also review Outlines, Works Cited Pages/Slides, and actually begin our Final Presentation projects. You have come a long way since the beginning of the semester. Now it is time to put all the things you have learned to good use.
DAILY SCHEDULE (85 MINUTES): PART 1: SOLO WORK (10-20 Minutes) PART 2: CLASS DISCUSSION / NEW MATERIAL (30-50 Minutes) PART 3: DAILY ACTIVITY (10-20 Minutes) PART 4: CLOSING (5 Minutes)
PART 1: SOLO WORK Step 1: Find your assigned computer Step 1a: Classroom helper pass out name tags Step 2: Log on to your assigned computer Step 3: Go to and log on to your typingweb.comaccount Step 4: Begin your next typing practice lesson Step 5: Remember, you are trying to reach at least 15 WPM on each of the Beginner Lessons (all 9 of them)
PART 2: CLASS DISCUSSION / NEW MATERIAL Step 1: Go to the class discussion web site Step 2: Begin reading new lesson material until class discussion activity start Step 3: Once the class discussion activity starts, follow along on the web site and be prepared to read the material out loud to the class
PART 3: DAILY ACTIVITY Step 1: Exploring Microsoft PowerPoint (Error Analysis and Peer Feedback Exercise) Step 2: Continue working on your technology research paper project
PART 4: CLOSING Step 1: Classroom helper collect and put away name tags Step 2: Close all open applications (Microsoft Office applications, web sites, etc.) Step 3: Gracefully shut down your computer Step 4: Turn off your display Step 5: Push your chair under the desk and pick up any trash
