LEARNING GOAL #2 - Introduction to Microsoft Word: Students will be able to conduct online research, evaluate/cite sources, and type a one-page research paper using multiple features of Microsoft Word 2013.
LESSON OVERVIEW: Over the last few lessons, we’ve been discussing and improving our skills in the Editing & Proofreading process. All of you write papers and reports for different classes, but we often forget that editing is a process that usually takes more time than writing. Getting good at spotting errors and making proper edits will make us better typists in the years ahead. Proofreading, on the other hand, is about making sure that our work actually looks good and is readable. You might even say that proofreading is about making a piece of writing worth reading. It’s not enough to just fix spelling errors if the rest of the document is poorly formatted or if the font is too small or if it just plain looks bad. Today is all about learning to improve the quality of our documents.
